Alibre Design V12 Released

Alibre Design V12 has been released and SYCODE’s Alibre Design add-ons, all 15 of them, have been updated to work with V12. The release of V12 also marks the end of the $99 offer on V11. However, at SYCODE we are continuing to price our Alibre Design add-ons for $95. During this time we figured that selling more for less was more profitable than selling less for more. So we are going to continue with our reduced pricing and see where it leads.

  • Deelip,

Somewhere, sometime, I read an article about internet marketing and pricing. In the article, they show that goods sold at $97 sold better than the same goods sold at $95 or $99. Apparently, there is something inherent in the human psyche about $95 being cheap, $99 being a stupid marketing ploy to sell junk. Therefore, $97 is not junk nor cheap – just a good value and worth the price paid.

This mean pricing strategy is very important for CAD industry :). I think yes, those price help small company, professional and student to “finally” can buy 3D software.

  • Lowering the price for a short while is a good strategy to capture the real budget CAD users, but don’t keep it low for too long.

    Very True, Nurk.

We lower the price of our US $199 or EUR 199 GeoTools add-on once in a while (approx. once a year for 1 week) and see that there is a bunch of new orders coming in from the fence sitters (the shoe-string budget guys).

The others really don’t care. if they like the product and know its worth, they will buy it without waiting or bothering about the “offer”.
