Lagoa Acquires 3DTin

In a press release issued yesterday, cloud based rendering platform company Lagoa announced that it had acquired 3DTin, another cloud based geometry creation platform. To know more about Lagoa see “Lagoa Offers Cloud Based Collaborative 3D Rendering“.

The Lagoa platform isn’t strong in terms of geometry creation and editing. You add you 2D and 3D content to the scene by uploading files from your disk.

After Lagoa embeds the 3DTin technology into its platform, users should be able to create and edit 3D content right within the Lagoa platform thereby saving the round tripping of content between the CAD application on the desktop and the rendering platform on the cloud.

As far as the fate of 3DTin is concerned, Lagoa intends to maintain it as an independent solution.
