Solido Up

This is a sequel to my earlier post titled “Solido Down“. Looks like Solido managed to get its web site back up and running again. However, it also looks like nobody has been maintaining the web site for a while. The content is hopelessly outdated. It still mentions SolidWorks co-founder Scott Harris as a member of the company’s board of directors.

When I met Scott recently at SolidWorks World 2011 and asked him about Solido, he couldn’t tell me much since he was no longer associated with the company.

There are some unconfirmed reports floating around that a certain company is interested in buying what’s left of Solido. I hope that deal goes through because I do believe that Solido has some real nice 3D printing technology that could be very helpful to our industry. I still have the sample parts that Solido CEO and founder Jason Barzilay gave me at the Solido booth at SolidWorks World 2010. See “SolidWorks World 2010 (Day 1) – Solido 3D Printer for $2950 only“.
