Wine In France

In a comment to my post titled “Beer In Belgium“, Matthew West wrote, “Beer is to the Belgians what wine is to the French. No one does it better.” So today I decided to check it out. As you can see from the following picture, I had a glass of wine next to the Eiffel Tower.

Or maybe this picture is more appropriate.

Here are absolutely magnificent views of Paris from the top of the tower.

As I was returning back to Belgium it occurred to me that today I actually went to another country to drink a glass of wine, climb a steel structure and nothing else.

I have done quite a few crazy things in my life. Now thanks to some inspiration from Matt, I can add this one to my list.

  • It's like after last year's ODA conference in Holland, my daughter and I made a day trip into Belgium and hung out in Gent for a few hours.

  • Bert

I'm from Belgium myself, and went to Paris after a concert once, with a friend who had never seen Paris.
By the time we arrived (3AM), we realized it was too late to find a decent hotel, so we drove around about half an hour and then back.
I still feel sorry and guilty for my friend 🙂

  • Yeah, Europe countries are so small. In places like India, we need to drive a number of hours just to leave our home state.
