ITC Terminates Bricsys Membership

Now it is ITC’s turn to issue a press release announcing the departure of Bricsys from the organization. Earlier Bricsys had issued a press release announcing the snapping of ties with the ITC. A press release to be issued tommorow will state:

“The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) announced today that the Bricsys membership in the ITC has been terminated and that it has received a letter from Bricsys CEO Erik de Keyser stating that the Bricscad 10 source code does not contain any IntelliCAD software.”

The press release continues:

“The ITC is a technical software consortium where member companies have access to the IntelliCAD source code. When a member company leaves the ITC, the member company follows an established procedure to ensure that the intellectual property of the ITC is protected. The ITC will be taking steps to ensure that its intellectual property has not been improperly used by Bricsys.”

I am not exactly sure what this “established procedure” is. But I hope that it is carried out without problems. From what I understand, tensions between the ITC and Bricsys have been running high for quite some time now and as it stands they are now full fledged business rivals.
