Tech Soft 3D to Handle AutoCAD OEM

Ron Fritz, CEO of Tech Soft 3D, announced at the first ever Tech Soft 3D Customer Meeting held on the sidelines of COFES 2010 that his company will handle the OEM licensing of AutoCAD. There has been a marked change in the pricing of AutoCAD OEM as well, something that I believe will make it quite interesting, possibly to me as well.

Basically you pay a one time fee of $5000 and then pay a royalty per license that you sell. The royalty depends upon the functionality that you use of AutoCAD. It ranges from $500 for basic 2D stuff and goes up to $2000 for the full blown AutoCAD. However, Autodesk will need to approve your application first so that you do not end up cannibalizing the sales of AutoCAD.
