Bridge Manufacturing Using 3D Printing

DEMCON, a customer in the Netherlands, wanted some ventilator parts manufactured by the traditional injection molding process. Upon learning that it would take weeks to make the mold, they turned to 3D Systems to see if we could help them bridge the gap till the molds were ready. Our On Demand Manufacturing facility in the country used our Figure 4 3D Printer with the MED-AMB 10 bio-compatible material to quickly print 200 sets of ventilator parts in 3 days flat.

This is a brilliant example of how 3D printing can provide bridge manufacturing capability in times of emergency.
