News Alert – ZWCAD Software To License Siemens Components For ZW3D
Chinese 2D CAD vendor ZWCAD Software recently acquired American MCAD vendor VX Corporation and renamed its flagship MCAD product VX CAD/CAM to ZW3D. A press release issued by Siemens PLM the other day gives us an indication of how ZWCAD Software intends to take ZW3D forward. the company has decided to license four components from Siemens PLM for used in ZW3D:
- D-Cubed 2D DCM – For 2D sketching
- D-Cubed 3D DCM – For 3D sketching, assembly positioning, motion simulation and direct part modeling
- Parasolid Communicator – For import and export of Parasolid XT files
- Parasolid STEP Translator – For data exchange between Parasolid XT and STEP format
I also found it interesting that ZWCAD Software had previously decided to license the D-Cubed 2D DCM component for ZWCAD, its AutoCAD clone based on IntelliCAD 6 code.
