Goa’s First Figure 4 Standalone 3D Printer

This Figure 4 Standalone is a special one for me. This 3D printer belongs to ScheMatter, the first Figure 4 customer in my home state of Goa. ScheMatter is a design consultancy company in Mapusa. They have been using FDM 3D printers for a while now. Carl de Souza, Director of Schematter, visited the 3D Systems office in Porvorim a few months ago and I got him interested in our Figure 4 technology. I put him in touch with Shree Rapid Technologies, our strategic channel partner in Mumbai and they supported the ScheMatter team as they started to discover and use the technology. Carl’s plans got delayed due to COVID. But now Carl and his team are ready to take their design consultancy service to the next level with their Figure 4 Standalone and its wide range of production ready materials.

Today I visited the ScheMatter office in Mapusa and spoke to Carl and his team. I noticed a few jewelery patterns printed in PRO-BLK 10 material and recommended that they use the JEWEL MASTER GRY instead, a material engineered to 3D print jewelery patterns with stunning surface finish. But I was surprised to learn that the 3D printed black parts were actually the final output desired by their customer. The actual “jewelery”, so to speak.
