3D PrintingFeatured

Vishwastratis

One of the fulfilling parts of my job involves traveling across the country to visit customers. Today I spent the day at Vishwastratis in Surat. Eight years ago childhood friends Brijesh Amin and Dharmesh Prajapati came together to start Vishwa CAD CAM as a jewelery service bureau in a small office in old town Surat. With one 3D printer and support from 3D Systems partner Shree Rapid Technologies they proceeded to introduce 3D printing to the jewelery market in Surat. Today they operate a fleet of 3D Systems 3D printers and serve customers all across the country.

Recently they decided to diversify to other industries and rebranded themselves as Vishwastratis. They expanded to a three storey building in Surat while still maintaining their small office in old town Surat. Although I spent most of the day at their swanky new office, I wanted see where it all started.

I was amazed by what I saw. I couldn’t figure out how they managed to squeeze so many 3D printers into a single room to begin with. These 3D printers run all day and night in a full production setting. These machines are quite literally flogged to almost breaking point, but continue printing one platform after another 24 x 7 x 365.
