UP 2012 Cloud Computing Conference
This year the UP 2012 Cloud Computing Conference will be held on 12th December in San Francisco. This conference is considered to be an annual review of developments and trends in the cloud computing space and their impact on global economy and society. The venue is the South San Francisco Conference Center located at the heart of the Bay Area biotech region.
You can find the agenda of the day long conference here. The headline keynote will be given by Rob Craft, Senior Director of Cloud Strategy at Microsoft. His keynote is titled “How Microsoft runs its business on the cloud“. Throughout the day there will be a series of panel discussions and break out sessions. Here are a few that I found interesting:
“Why your data center should be run like a business” by Mark Harris of Nlyte Software.
“Harnessing Big Data in the cloud” by Jack Norris or MapR Technologies
“Rethink cloud strategy security to get ahead of the risk curve” by Kurt Johnson of Courion Corporation
The registration fees are $299 for regular and $699 for VIP, which gets you a DVD set of the recordings of all sessions for the 2012 conference as well as the recordings of the 2009, 2010 and 2011 conferences. A VIP ticket also gets you access to the VIP lounge and an invite to the networking dinner. If you cannot attend the conference in person you can register for the DVD pack for $199.
